The American Cichlid Association is governed by a Board of Trustees (BOT), consisting of nine members presided over by a Chair. Four new members are elected from the membership each year and serve a two-year term. Elections are held in the fall. Any ACA member in good standing for one year or longer can nominate him/herself by simply submitting a resume to the Nominating Committee by July 31 of any given year. See the Bylaws for the specific duties of these positions. Many functions of the Association are carried out by Committees and individual members assigned to the task, e.g. ACA Convention Liason.
Society business is conducted by mail, email and at a meeting held during the annual ACA Convention through a series of propositions that are voted on by BOT members. Here is a list of recent BOT propositions and whether they were passed or not.
Below are listed the current Board of Trustees, followed by a listing of Ad Hoc BOT members and committees. If you see something that might interest you, do not hesitate to get involved in the running of your association.
