Seasons Greetings and Holiday Salutations!

The days will be getting longer now so we have something to look forward to in the days to come. The frigid blast that hit us in the Midwest has broken and a high of 46Β°F is expected on Christmas Day. Not too shabby, Santa. Thanks!

I had hoped to have all of the election results in for you at this time but the votes are still coming in for the Secretary of the BOT. Jan Benes nominated me for the Chair position and I have accepted and have been voted in. Andy Hudson has been voted in as the Vice-chair. It is my hope to keep the momentum that the ACA has produced over the past few years going strong and provide you, the member, a great experience.

The January AN will have the Secretary position results in it.

You may have noticed that I no longer put the Props in the newsletter. These can be handily found at the website if you are so inclined to check on them. Go to Click on Association and drop down to Proposals to BOT bar.

Dan Martin, our Show Sanctioning Liason, asked me to remind all of the local clubs that the ACA will sanction your cichlid show and has a very nice medallion for all Best Cichlid of Show winners. It is a nice added perk for your winning members. Please have your Show Chair contact Dan at: [email protected]

Be sure to make your travel arrangements and hotel reservations for the ACA Convention in Novi, MI. The Michigan crew always puts on a great event and are awesome cichlid keepers. Have a few tanks empty before you attend as you will be finding some interesting fish there.

Lastly, I have to tell you all what a pleasure it is for me to write this newsletter every month. It is a welcome chore, allowing me to keep in touch with all of you and put some of my thoughts to print.

Speaking of print … you didn’t think I’d close out the year without mentioning this … please write your thoughts, experiencing and areas of expertise down and submit an article to our BB Editor, Daryl Hutchins. Contact Daryl at: [email protected] As always, we will edit your submission if you need us to and will be more than happy to assist you in any way.

Special thanks to all of the ACA BOT members and Cadre members who put in so much dedication and hard work into the success of our organization. Also, to the convention host clubs and workers who make our conventions, and participation in the Aquatic Experience, possible.

πŸŽ… Have a very Merry Christmas and I will be continuing to write the newsletter in what I hope is a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year for us all.

Ho Ho Ho!

Alan πŸŽ…
