Greetings from the Great White Sauna. Hundred-degree temperatures and rain make for a steamy beginning to summer. This is not what our usual experience is in June. It’s time for a cooling-off period. What better way to cool off than with a cold one in hand, looking at show tanks full of cichlids, livebearers and killifish. Good friends, good food, some brewski’s and fish. Sweet!
The convention is coming up soon. If you have not made your reservations, the neighboring Holiday Inn may still have a few rooms left at the convention block rate.
Register and make your reservations now.
Fishes have been shipped in for the auction, tanks have been donated for the kids contest, goody bags have been stuffed to overflowing with all types of things, and plans are being made for all sorts of jovialities …
Don’t miss out.
Remember, not only is this an ACA event but the Triple Crown includes the ALA and the AKA. NA-ANGFA will also have their convention but with no fish show. I want to thank the Louisville Tropical Fish Fanciers (LTFF) ahead of time for hosting this year’s event. Their effort is appreciated greatly.
Go to convention.cichlid.org for all the particulars.
BOT ELECTION
It is once again the time for all good men or women to toss their hat into the arena and run for the ACA BOT. We have five positions to fill this year. Please send your bios to the following contact address: [email protected].
It’s your organization, help keep it running strong.
Remember to register for the convention, reserve your rooms, send a bio for the BOT election and please, so Daryl Hutchins, our BB Editor quits bugging me (Moi? Bug? Never! – BB Ed), send an article to him real quick for publication in BB. The ACA pays for your submissions. With so much going on in the world of cichlids, it should be easy to write about a topic. We really do not want even one issue of BB to become a bunch of old reprints (😕 too late … see #311 – AN/BB minion). Although, my ‘Zebras in the Fish Room’ article is timeless.
BREEDER OF THE YEAR CONTEST
The ACA BOTY Contest is back! If your aquarium club has a Breeder’s Award Program you are eligible to participate in the BOTY Contest. To enter please contact Andy Hudson at [email protected] for entry forms, rules, and contact info.
All for now,
Alan
