I hope that everyone had a safe and relaxing Fourth of July. This month’s ACA News will be short as we all have a lot going on, I’m sure.

 

CONVENTION

It’s convention time. Man, oh man! Have you been following the FB site for the convention? Some really rare and really cool fish are going to be available. NECA, our host club, has the motto “we get the fish” and they have sure kept their promise. But, the only way to get your hands on these fish is to attend the convention. So, look at the convention ad in this issue of the AN and get to Cromwell, CT next weekend. It’ll be a great time of fish, friends and fun!

 

BOT ELECTIONS

The ACA is looking for a few good men or women to step up to run for the ACA BOT. Send a short bio to me at: [email protected] to be included in the running. Not sure of what the BOT does? Speak to any of our current BOT members at the convention or contact me at [email protected] and I’ll answer your specific questions.

ACA SALES

The word on the street is that our good friends at ZOO MED have once again printed the most recent four editions of BB and that they will be on sale at the convention. If you are like me, a collector of aquarium literature, you will not want to miss out on these issues. If you have not yet gotten your copy of the early BB collection on USB or Ross Solocof’s book Confessions of a Tropical Fish Addict they should be available, too.

 

BABES AUCTION

Don’t forget to donate to, or attend the BABES auction (see below for details). It’s always a lot of fun and for a really great cause.

Babes In The Cichlid Hobby are seeking donations for the famous Babes In The Cichlid Hobby Silent Auction.

It will be held this year at the ACA Annual Convention in Cromwell, CT, July 18-22, 2019.

It is all for a worthy cause! All of the money (100%) will go to the Guy D. Jordan Endowment Fund, Paul V. Loiselle Conservation Fund and Stuart M. Grant Conservation Fund; you pick where you want your donation to go.

Please bring your donations to the convention. If you can’t make it, and you are willing to donate, please send your donations to us at the hotel. Cut-and-paste the address below. And remember if you don’t have anything to donate, you can always bid high on something that catches your eye or make a cash/check contribution. All donations are tax deductible.

Life Memberships — build your membership levels incrementally and move up in rank. All memberships above the basic Life Membership will be published annually in an ACA publication to recognize your contributions to Conservation, Research and Education.

$1000 LIFE Membership — all current Life Memberships still honored, no increase in dues. This and all higher-level memberships receive a Life Membership to the ACA.

Gift Memberships

You can very easily give your friends/family an ACA Gift Membership, bringing them all the benefits attendant thereto. A lasting gift that has flow-on beneficial effects via the ACA’s research and conservation
programs, etc.
To organise an ACA Gift Membership, please:

1) Send payment(s) of $35 per gift membership to the ACA PayPal account at [email protected].

2) Send an email to ACA Treasurer, Tim Hovanec, at [email protected] with a CC to ACA Membership Coordinator, Claudia Dickinson ([email protected]), stating that you have just
sent money for a gift membership/s and the names and e-mail addresses of the recipients.

3) Each ACA Gift Membership recipient will then receive an ACA Gift Member email with a copy to the
gift-giver, followed by e-mail welcome letters from the ACA and CRC.
